What are weight loss peptides?

Most of these act on gut hormone receptors. Semaglutide works on GLP-1 alone, tirzepatide adds GIP, and retatrutide adds the glucagon receptor on top. Cagrilintide takes a separate route as an amylin analog, copying a fullness hormone the pancreas releases with insulin.

The rest work elsewhere. AOD-9604 is the tail end of growth hormone studied for fat breakdown, MOTS-c is a peptide coded in mitochondrial DNA that switches on AMPK, and tesamorelin has clinical data on visceral fat.

Storage and handling

Keep sealed freeze-dried vials in the freezer at -20°C, or in the fridge if they’ll be used within a few weeks. Once a vial is mixed, it stays at 2 to 8°C and is best used within about four weeks.
