Onyx Research COA guide: how our purity testing works

An Onyx Research COA is a certificate of analysis from Freedom Diagnostics, a US lab. This guide shows what each report measures, how to verify one with its search code and where every product stands.

Onyx Research COA and purity testing: BPC-157, tesamorelin and NAD+ vials

What an Onyx Research COA measures

Each Onyx Research COA comes from two tests run together. HPLC with UV detection separates the sample into its parts and reports the main compound as a percentage of everything detected. That’s the purity figure. Mass spectrometry then weighs the molecules to confirm the peak is the right compound. That’s the identity check.

The report also lists the net peptide content, meaning the measured amount in the vial, plus the lot, the appearance of the powder and the dates the sample was received and reported.

How to verify an Onyx Research COA

  • Open the product page and find the purity list, or open the report in the product photos.
  • Copy the search code, for example Onyx2511200077 for BPC-157.
  • Go to the Freedom Diagnostics website and enter the code in its search.
  • Compare the result, dates and product name with what we show.

If anything doesn’t match, email us. A report that anyone can check on the lab’s own site is worth more than a PDF on a store page, which is why we publish the codes.

Onyx Research COA results, highest first

RAD-140 capsules have a separate report from Vanguard Laboratory, which measured 10mg per capsule. Products without a report, such as MOTS-c and AOD-9604, are labeled 99% purity. Ask us before ordering if you need paperwork for those.

Why purity alone isn’t the whole story

A high HPLC number tells you the sample is mostly one compound. The mass spec line tells you it’s the right one. Net content tells you how much is there. Read all three before you plan concentrations, and keep a copy of the report with your lab notes.

Onyx Research COA vs label purity

The Onyx Research COA and the label say different things. The label promises 99% purity for every vial. The COA reports what one tested batch actually measured. Most of our results sit well above the label, between 99.02% and 99.95%. For background on how HPLC purity testing works, this PubMed search on HPLC peptide analysis collects the methods papers.
