What are growth hormone peptides?

Growth hormone is released in pulses. GHRH from the hypothalamus starts each pulse, and ghrelin, acting on the GHS-R1a receptor, makes it bigger. Anything that works through either signal is called a growth hormone secretagogue.

Growth hormone then tells the liver to make IGF-1, which carries much of the growth signal to other tissue. IGF-1 LR3 is a longer-lasting version of that hormone. MK-677 is a small molecule that copies ghrelin, so it comes in capsules.
