The compounds in CJC-1295 and Ipamorelin

CJC-1295 No DAC: CJC-1295 without DAC, also called modified GRF(1-29), is GHRH(1-29) with four amino acid changes that protect it from enzymes. Its half-life is longer than sermorelin’s, though still short.

Ipamorelin is a five-amino-acid growth hormone secretagogue, Aib-His-D-2Nal-D-Phe-Lys-NH2, developed at Novo Nordisk in the 1990s. It acts on the ghrelin receptor (GHS-R1a) on pituitary cells.

CJC-1295 No DAC (Mod GRF 1-29) gives a short GHRH signal, and ipamorelin gives a short, selective ghrelin receptor signal. The pituitary releases the most growth hormone when both receptors are hit together, which is why this 5mg plus 5mg pair is a standard starting point in GH studies.

Because the compounds are dried together, the ratio is fixed in every draw. If you need a different ratio, buy the single vials and combine them yourself.

Mechanisms in the blend

GHRH from the hypothalamus tells the pituitary to release growth hormone. Only its first 29 amino acids are needed for that.

Ipamorelin mimics ghrelin at the growth hormone secretagogue receptor (GHSR-1a) in the pituitary and hypothalamus. Activating that receptor triggers a GH pulse.

Published studies

The amino acid changes were described in work on tetrasubstituted GRF analogs.

Most published human data are on the DAC version.

Raun and colleagues described it in the European Journal of Endocrinology in 1998, reporting that even at doses far above those needed for GH release, it didn’t raise ACTH or cortisol in pigs.

It later went into human trials for post-surgical ileus, a stalled gut after abdominal surgery, but didn’t progress to approval.

Give a cold vial five minutes on the bench, then swab the top. Let the bacteriostatic water trickle down the side and roll the vial gently between your palms. It should turn clear within a minute or two.

Storage and stability

Put sealed CJC-1295 and Ipamorelin vials in the freezer at -20°C if you won’t use them soon. A few days on a shelf during transit does no harm to dry powder. Once you’ve added water, the vial lives in the fridge at 2 to 8°C for up to about four weeks.

Let a frozen vial come up to room temperature before you open it, or condensation forms on the powder.

Checking your vials

Start with the label: Onyx Research, the compound name and the amount should all match what you ordered. Then look at the seal. The crimp should be tight with no cracks in the glass.

The powder should look dry and pale, either as a solid cake or loose granules. If the cake has crumbled in the box, that’s expected. Powder that looks wet, gummy or off-color is not, so keep that vial out of use and send us a photo.

Log the date the vial arrived and, later, when and how you mixed it. It’s quick, and it saves a lot of guesswork if something goes wrong.
